Dr. Sima Kavand is a board-certified internist and an international fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She earned her medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed a four-year dermatology residency in Iran. Before relocating to the United States, she served as an esteemed dermatology consultant. In the US, she first worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the department of dermatology at the University of Minnesota, where she focused on various dermatology services. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Saint Francis Hospital, affiliated with the University of Illinois.
Dr. Kavand's unique qualifications enable her to understand the complexity of internal diseases and their manifestations as skin disorders. She has a keen interest in chronic disease management and provides care for patients with chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, warts, and skin cancers. Patients can trust her not only for treating their skin, hair, and nail disorders but also for diagnosing, treating, and preventing internal diseases like hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia.
